Who Are We?
Who Are We?
They thought that they were Martian Japanese but many people still called them “Martian.”
The family felt they were not a hundred percent Japanese. On the other hand, when the family traveled to Mars, people on Mars called them “Japanese.” The family felt isolated from the Martian community. They were no longer pure Martian.
They often asked the same questions themselves, “Who are we? Where did we come from? Where are we going?” They felt that they lost their identities.
Two hundred years later, the family already had the fourth generation in their family. The big family often had dinner at a Martian food restaurant in Little Mars together. They always said, “Who are we?”

彼等は頻繁に自らにこう問いかけた。「私達は何者? 何処から来て、何処に行こうとしているのだろうか?」彼等は、自分達のアイデンティティーに対して喪失感を感じていた。
