Before They Knew It...

Before They Knew It...

Once upon a time, there was a young woman who lived alone in Tokyo. One day, she secretly had a baby. But she hadn't told anyone. None of her relatives or neighbors knew whether she was married or not. The baby she carried on her back was a boy.

Before people knew it, the boy had become a teenager. He loved reading books, so he began to stay up late every night, readingFrom time to time, it would be morning before he knew it.

Before his graduation at the age of twenty, the young man left college without his classmates realizing. None of them talked about it. The man eventually began working at/in a radio cassette recorder factory.

By the time he was thirty, before any of his coworkers knew it, he had already quit his job at the company. None of his former coworkers knew whether the man found a new job or not.

The man reached the age of forty. He somehow ended up living in a foreign county. His own mother did not even know where he was.

Before he became fifty, the man had returned to his home country, Japan.

The man became sixty years old. One rainy day, the man woke up during the afternoon in his apartment in Tokyo. As he opened the window, the rain had stopped. He then went to a shopping mall alone.

The man became seventy. One day, he had trouble making a cashless payment with his smartphone. As it was taking time for him to complete his payment, a young cashier sighed at him. The man realized that he was old.

When he reached eighty years old, the neighbors noticed that they hadn't seen the man on the street recently. An apartment manager entered his room with a spare key. The man had already passed away in his room.
