The Simple Strategy
The Simple Strategy
Once upon a time, there was a man who was trying to improve his Russian. The man had been having extremely hard time with grammar books that explained with charts and stupid formulas. He had spent more than $200 for the books and audio CDs, and he really regretted it. He realized that he was not good at reading those books. He finally gave up reading them and decided to trash all of them. He thought that his brain just didn't accept them. He said to himself, “Is my brain poorer than the other learners? Maybe, but I can't change my brain.” So, he needed some strategy that would work for him. Then, He went online and found a American who taught Russian with a unique method without formulas. His method was to reach out to the listeners’ brain cells, and let them learn Russian naturally and gradually. The man felt very comfortable with that method and arranged it for himself. His new method was very simple and nothing special. He said, “This is something my poor brain cells can accept.” Then, he wrote the task list down on a sheet of a paper, “First, search for a good dialogue or an essay that was written by a native speaker. Second, use the dictionary to look up some vocabulary. Third, read it aloud 100 times. Just read the sentences as they are without analyzing grammar. Forth, test if I can speak it without looking at the texts. If not, repeat more. Sixth, if I pass the test, go on to the next dialogue or paragraph. Seven, forget everything and have something to eat. Sleep well.”
