A Russian Bookstore

A Russian Bookstore

Once upon a time, there was a woman who owned a bookstore in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. It stocked many good Russian books which she had imported from her country.

One day, a man entered her shop and started browsing through a Russian magazine. The owner said to him, “Hello! May I help you?” The man replied, “Yes, thanks! I was wondering if I could speak to the owner of this bookstore.”

She asked him, “May I ask why you want to see the owner?” He answered, “Yes, I would like to purchase this store. You have some very good children's books here.” She said, “I am the owner of this  ‘magazine.’" “Oh!" said the man, "I am sorry, is this your magazine? I have just been browsing through it, it's really good! Anyway, if you don't mind, I would really like to talk with the owner of this store instead.” The woman finally said to the man, “That's why I said ......’Eta moi magazine!’”

(Do you get the joke in this story? What did the owner say?”)
