Lately I’ve been thinking that there’s something I was forgetting, and I realized what it was this morning. I haven’t been to the barber in a long time. Now, what should I do?
最近、何か忘れていると思っていたんですが、それが何か今朝わかりました。長いこと散髪に行っていなかったのです。さて、どうしようかな？

忘れる (わすれる) : to forget (verb)

忘れた (わすれた) : You forgot.

何か忘れた : You forgot something.

忘れている : You are forgetting.

忘れていた : You were forgetting.

思う (おもう) : to think (verb), to feel (verb)

忘れていると思う : You think that you have been forgetting it.

思っている (おもっている) : You think so. (current and recent situation)

思っていた (おもっていた) : You thought so. (past situation)

思っているんですが、..... : I think so, but .......

思っていたんですが、... : I thought so, but ......

それ : it, that

それが何か : what it is/was

今朝 (けさ) : this morning

わかる : You understand. You get it. You realize.

わかった : You understood. You got it. You realized.

わかりました : I understood. I got it. I realized.

それが何かわかります : I know what it is.

それが何かわかりました : I realized what it was.

今朝わかりました : I realized what it was this morning.

長い (ながい) : long

長いこと : a long time

散髪 (さんぱつ) : haircut

行く (いく) : to go (verb)

行った (いった) : You went there.

散髪に行く : You go to the barber.

いなかった : You haven't been here/there.

行っていた (いっていた) : You have been there.

行っていなかった : You haven't been there.

長いこといなかった : You haven't been there in a long time.

散髪に行っていなかった : You haven't been to the barber.

のです : It is true. I think so. 

さて、.... : Well, ..... Now, ....

どうしようかな？: What should I do?









I’m still undecided if I’ll go to the barber or not. I bought clippers on Amazon so maybe I’ll cut my own hair. (I’m still unsure of whether or not I’ll go to the barber.)
散髪に行くかどうかまだ迷っています。アマゾンでバリカンを買って自分で丸刈りにしようかな？

行く (いく) : to go (verb)

散髪に行くかどうか : if you go to the barber or not

まだ : still, yet

迷う (まよう) : to get lost (verb), You can not decide easily.

迷い (まよい) : getting lost, a situation that you can not decide something

迷った (まよった) : You got lost. 

迷っている (まよっている) : You are lost. (current situation), You are undecided.

まだ迷っている : You are still lost. You are still undecided.

アマゾン : Amazon

バリカン : clippers

買う (かう) : to buy (verb)

買った (かった) : You bought it.

アマゾンでバリカンを買った : You bought clippers on Amazon.

買って (かって) : by buying it, You buy/bought it and/then/so .....

自分 (じぶん) : oneself

自分で : by self, independently

丸刈り (まるがり) : buzz cut

しよう : I will do it.

しようかな？: Shall I? Should I do it?

髪をバリカンで丸刈りにする : You cut your hair with clippers.

Paperwork Throughout every stage of the Japanese medical care system, from government offices and service providers to the people receiving care, seem to spend the vast majority of their time filling out a tremendous amount of paperwork. Unfortunately if a person who receives medical services is unable or cannot manage his or her documents, then their family will receive mountains of paperwork from both the government offices and service providers. I think that the Japanese government should headhunt talented people from advanced companies such as Amazon, Facebook, Google, and so on.
