輝く (かがやく) : to shine (verb)

月 (つき) : the moon

輝く月 : the shining moon

のように : like that

No matter how much I thank you, it will never be sufficient. So, I will stare back at you from my whole heart, like the shining moon from the light of the sun in the night does so.

どれくらい : how many, how large, how often, how much, etc.

感謝(かんしゃ) : thanking 

したって : even if you do it

感謝したって : even if you thank him/her

どれくらい感謝したって : no matter how much you thank someone

足りる (たりる) : It is sufficient.

足りない : It is not sufficient.

から : because of it, so

足りないから : because it’s not sufficient

どれくらい感謝したって足りないから、..... : No matter how much I thank you, it’s not sufficient, so .......

全て (すべて) : the whole

身 (み) : the body

全身(ぜんしん) : the whole body

心 (こころ) : the mind, the heart, the spirit

全心 (ぜんしん) : the whole heart

全身で : with your whole body

全心で : from your whole heart

見つめる(みつめる) : to stare (verb)

返す (かえす) : to return (verb)

見つめ返す : to stare back at someone (verb)

あなたを全心で見つめ返す。: I will stare back at you from my whole heart.

太陽 (たいよう) : the sun

光 (ひかり) : the light

太陽の光 : the light of the sun

浴びる (あびる) : to bask in the sun , to be bathed in the moon light, to be flooded with light, to have a drip in the river, to take a shower, to be covered with dust, to drink like a fish, etc. (Please get the nuance of “浴びる” from these examples.)

太陽の光を浴びる : to bask in the sun (verb)

太陽の光を浴びて : with basking in the sun (adverb)

輝く (かがやく) : to shine (verb)

太陽の光を浴びて輝く : It shines from the light of the sun

夜 (よる) : night

空 (そら) : the sky

夜空 (よぞら) : the sky in the night  ( そ --> ぞ )

月 (つき) : the moon

夜空の月 : the moon in the night

輝く月 : the shining moon

太陽の光を浴びて輝く夜空の月 : the moon that is shining from the light of the sun in the night

そうする : You do so.

そうしている。: You are doing so.

みたいに : like that

月みたいに : like the moon

輝く月みたいに : like the shining moon

夜空の月みたいに : like the moon in the night

そうしているみたいに : like you doing so

月がそうしているみたいに : like the moon doing so

When I was wandering like the cloudy sky which hides itself, you sent me the light. You opened my heart which I had closed. You understood me just as I am.





雲 (くも) : cloud

空 (そら) : the sky

隠れる (かくれる) : to hide yourself (verb)

雲の空隠れる : The cloudy sky hides itself.

ように : like that, like such a situation

彷徨 (ほうこう) : wandering, roaming (noun)

彷徨する : to wander, to roam (verb)

さ迷う / 彷徨う (さまよう) : to wander, to roam (verb, "さ迷う" and "さまよう" are usually used. I guess that Superfly used  "彷徨う" for her poetic feeling.)

私 (わたし) : I/my/me

彷徨う私 : I who wander.

彷徨う私に : to me when I am wandering

雲の空隠れるように彷徨う私に : when I am wandering like the cloudy sky which hides itself

光 (ひかり) : the light

ぶつける : to hit, to strike, to throw (verb)

光をぶつける : You send the light to something.

くれる : Someone gives you a gift. (You will receive a gift and will probably thank him or her.)

くれた。: Someone gave it to you. (You received a gift and probably thanked him or her.)

私にくれたね。: You gave it to me. (casual, spoken expression)

私に光をぶつけてくれた : You sent me the light. Thanks!

一人(ひとり) : one person

独り (ひとり) : alone, by yourself, single but not married

ひとりきり : a situation when you are alone and lonely

閉ざす (とざす) : to close (verb)

閉ざした。: You closed it.

心 (こころ) : your mind, your heart

ひとりきりの心 : lonely heart

閉ざした心 : your heart which you have closed by yourself for some reason


ひとりきりの閉ざした心 : your lonely heart which you have already closed by yourself

開ける (あける) : to open (verb)

こじ開ける : to open something by working very hard when it is difficult to open (verb)

こじ開けた。: You opened it with a lot of power.

心こじ開けた。: You opened someone's heart. You opened my heart. (in this context)

開け、.... (あけ、....) : You opened it and/then/so .......

閉ざした心こじ開けた。 : You opened your closed heart. / You opened my closed heart. (in this context)

私 (わたし) : I/my/me

全て (すべて) : the all, the whole thing, all of them, everything

私の全て : everything about me

受ける (うける) : to receive (verb)

止める (とめる) : to hold, to stop (verb)

受け止める : to catch something and accept it (verb)

受け止めた。: You caught and accepted it.

私の全てを受け止めてくれた。: You caught and accepted everything about me. You understood me just as I am. (feeling based translation)

くれたんだ。: You gave it to me, right?  (casual, spoken expression)

私の全てを受け止めてくれたんだ。: You caught and accepted everything about me. You understood me just as I am. (feeling based translation) (casual spoken expression)









Oh my heart! With this, I can rely on someone! I can believe someone strongly! I met you, and, I'm sure that it made me able to be honest.

頼る (たよる) : to rely on, to depend on (verb)

誰かに頼る :You rely on someone.

心 (こころ) : heart, mind

頼る心 : a heart with which you rely on someone or something (noun clause)

強い (つよい) : strong (adjective)

信じる (しんじる) : to believe (verb)

出会う / 出逢う (であう) : to meet someone (verb), to get to know someone (verb), to find someone who is going to be important for you in your life (verb)

出会った / 出逢った。(であった。) : You met him/her/them. You got to know him/her/them.

あなたに出逢った。: I met you. I got to know you.

出逢ったから : because I met you

素直 (すなお) : If you are 素直, you can believe people around you and can be honest to them.

なれる : You can become such a person. You can get such a situation/condition.

素直になれる。: You can believe and can be honest.

なれた。: I was able to become such a person.

あなたに出逢ったから素直になれた。: I met you, and you changed me. Now, I can believe! I can be honest!

あなたに出逢ったから素直になれたんだ。: (casual, spoken expression)

*Please pay attention to the feeling and emotion rather than the grammar functions of small parts.







If you know love, you will begin to shine. Then, everyone lights up in the world. Like the moon in the night, I am now shining so much. Can you see it? I won't escape. I am getting stronger because I want you to smile. Look! I will shine!

人 (ひと) : a person, someone, human beings, people, other people, someone else

みんな : everyone, all the people, people around you

世界 (せかい) : the world

照らす(てらす) : to light on something (verb)

世界を照らす : It lights up in the world.

していく : You do it and keep doing it. You do it more and more. You keep doing it.

してく : (casual, spoken expression)

照らしていく : You light on this and that. You light on it and go in more.

空 (そら) : the sky

夜空 (よぞら) : the sky in the night

月 (つき) : the moon

不思議 (ふしぎ) : a good or bad situation which is a wonder, mystery or strange

笑顔 (えがお) : smiling face

奥 (おく) : the depths, deep in something, behind something

笑顔の奥 : behind your smiling face

泣く (なく) : to cry (verb)

泣いている (ないている) : You are crying. (present progress), You cry always/usually/often/sometimes. (current and recent situation)

泣いていた。: You were crying. (past progress), You cried always/usually/often/sometimes. (past situation)

笑顔の奥で泣いていた : You were crying behind your smiling face.

頃(ころ) : the time or days which you have just mentioned, those days

泣いていた頃 : those days when you cried often or sometimes

私 (わたし / あたし) : I/my/me ("あたし" is a casual, spoken, feminine expression often said by women.)

泣いていた頃の私 : myself of those day when I cried often or sometimes

さよなら : good-bye, saying good-bye, leaving someone or a place

出来る (できる) : You can do it.

さよなら出来る : You can say good-bye. You can leave him/her/them/here/there.

出来た。(できた): You were able to do it.

さよなら出来た。: I was able to say good-bye.

私にさよなら出来た。: I was able to say good-bye to myself. You were able to say good-bye to me.

私にさよなら出来たんだ。: I was able to say good-bye to myself. You were able to say good-bye to me. (casual, spoken expression)

泣いていた頃の私にさよなら出来た。: I was able to say good-bye to myself who had been crying. I was able to stop crying everyday.

出来ない。(できない) : You can not do it.

私にさよなら出来ないんだ。: I can not say good-bye to myself. You can not say good-bye to me. (casual, spoken expression)

私にさよなら出来なかったんだ。: I could not say good-bye to myself. You could not say good-bye to me. (casual, spoken expression)

だから : because of it, therefore, so, that's why

苦しい (くるしい) : You are having a hard time. You are suffering. You are in a trouble. You are struggling. You are distressing.

時 (とき) : a time, the time, when you do it, when it happens

苦しい時 : when you are suffering, when you are having a hard time

光 (ひかり) : the light

私の光 : my light, the light in my heart

守る (まもる) : to protect someone or something (verb)

光で守る : You protect someone or something with the light.

私の光で守る。: I protect you/him/her/it with my light.

あげる : to give someone a gift (verb, So he or she will probably thank you.), I will give it to you.

守ってあげる : I will protect you.

苦しい時には守ってあげる。: I will protect you when you suffer.

あげたい。: I want to give it to you.

だから守ってあげたい。: So/That's why, I want to protect you.







I want to be helpful for someone. I want to live for someone. I was able to be born again because I met you. I believe so.

小さい光 / 小さな光 : a small light (Either expression is okay as the noun '光' follows the adjective)

まだ小さい光だって : even it is still a small light

どうか : Please! Please!

ずっと : forever

見守る (みまもる) : to watch over someone or something (verb, You might be a protector or a guardian.), You will watch someone or something.

見守っている (みまもっている) : You are watching over someone or something. (current and recent situation)

見守っていてね。: Watch over me.

どうか見守っていてね。: Please! Please! Watch over me. Please protect me.

いつまでも : forever

ずっと、いつまでも : forever and forever, never stop


無限 (むげん) : unlimited amount, unlimited times, forever, non limit

無限に繰り返す : to repeat it unlimitedly (verb), You repeat it unlimitedly. It repeats unlimitedly.

心 (こころ) : mind, heart

抱く (いだく) : to have, to hold something with your arms, to have some feeling or emotion in your mind (verb)

思い (おもい) : your thought, your mind

心に抱く思い : the mind which you have in your heart

思いよ！: Oh my mind! (poetic expression)

繰り返す思い : your mind which repeatedly appears in your heart

飛ぶ (とぶ) : to fly, to jump (verb)

行く (ゆく / いく) : to go (verb), You go there.

飛んで行く : to fly off (verb), You fly off.

行け！(ゆけ！/ いけ！) : Go!

飛んで行け！: Fly off!

ありがとう！ : Thanks!

What should I do? What should I do? Wow! I can love someone so much like this! Oh, my eyes are filled with tears.





どうしよう : What should I do? How can I do it?

どうした？: What's happened?

いい : good, fine, well, okay

いい？: Good? Okay? May I? Should I?

どうしたらいい？: What should I do? How can I do it?

どうしよう、どうしたらいい？: What should I do? What should I do? (These two expressions have the same meaning. The author of this lyrics probably wanted to avoid repeating exactly the same expression twice.)

こんなに : such an amount, such a length, so much

誰か (だれか) : someone, somebody

愛 (あい) : love

愛する: to love someone (verb), You love him/her.

愛せる : You can love someone.

誰かを愛する。: You love someone.

こんなにも愛せる : You can love him/her so much like this.

涙 (なみだ) : a tear, tears

溢れる (あふれる) : to flood (verb), to overflow (verb), It floods. It overflows.

出す (だす) : to move/push/pull something out (verb), to begin doing something (verb)

溢れ出す : to begin flooding (verb), to begin overflowing (verb), It begins flooding. It begins overflowing.

涙が溢れる。 : Your eyes are filled with tears.

涙が溢れ出す。: Your eyes begin to be filled with tears.

My heart is shining knowing love. It lights up in the world with the confidence. It is shining so much like this, like the shining moon.

Look! It will shine in this sky!
