I need a raisin!

Once upon a time, there was an man who liked to write his stories in English. He had already retired from his company, so he had a lot of free time every day. He lived with his wife in a lodge on a mountain. He wrote one story every day, and told it to his wife.

One morning, during their breakfast, he told a new story, eating some raisins:

"A man was having breakfast with his wife. He said with low voice, 'I need a raisin for a reason.'"

His wife sighed.

The man said, "Okay! I will give you another story." He told another another story:

"An American man was in a supermarket in Tokyo. He was looking for something but could not find it. So, he asked a young female clerk, 'Could I get a raisin? I can not find it.' The clerk was wondering why he needed just one raisin. She asked the man, 'Do you need just one raisin?' The man answered, 'Yes, I do. Do you have it?' The clerk asked again, 'Why do you need only one raisin?' The man said, 'I need a raisin for ...... a reason!'"

He asked his wife, "How was this? Do you understand this joke?"

His wife sighed again.

They finished their breakfast in silence.
