The Simple Remote Control

Good morning! I tried to use my new simplified remote control for our air conditioner yesterday. For the first time, our machine did not work with this controller. This controller was supposed to work with many different brands of air conditioners. I tried many different settings and the air conditioner finally worked. However, some features still don't work. The most basic functions are working. So, this controller is acceptable for us. We can use this controller more easily and intuitively than the original one which came with the air conditioner. The Robot Vacuum Cleaner

Before starting the robot vacuum cleaner in a room , I move everything that is on the floor to another room . When the robot finishes I move everything back to the original room. This has become a good physical exercise  for me.
By the way, the vacuum cleaner robot costs 140,000 yen.

The Robot Needs Your Help!

January 19: 
When I started my Roomba and went to lunch, I got a notification on my iPhone. "The robot needs help," it said. When I came home, I found the robot rolled-over on the step in the entrance area. It seemed that the step sensor was not working properly. I will call the customer support tomorrow.

January 20:
I called the support. While I was speaking with someone in support, I tested the Roomba on a table. At that moment it didn't fall down.  It seemed that the step sensor was working properly.

1月20日: サポートに電話しました。サポート・センターと話している間、ルンバをテーブルの上で動かしてみました。ルンバはテーブルから落下しませんでした。段差センサーは機能しているようでした。

Mac OS Update

I ran an OS update for my Mac yesterday. I don't have an internet connection at home, so I downloaded a file of about 3GB to my Mac via tethering on my iPhone. It took more than an hour, but I managed to update my Mac OS.

昨日、MacのOSアップデートを実行しました。自宅にインターネット回線が無いので、iPhoneのテザリングを経由して、Macに約3GBのファイルをダウンロードしました。1時間以上かかりましたが、何とかMac OSをアップデートすることが出来ました。

Fire TV

I recently purchased an Amazon Fire TV Stick on Amazon Shopping. I wanted to listen to Amazon Prime Music and watch Amazon Prime Video. As soon as it came to my home, I set up and began to use it. However, there was a problem. The sound and video were often interrupted probably due to slow network. The frequency of our WiFi network was 2.4 GHz.

The next day, I bought a new WiFi router which supported 5GHz mode. The Fire TV worked very well for the day but stopped working the next day. I Google searched about this problem, then found some people reported the same problem. According to them, Amazon Fire TV Stick supported only limited WiFi channels for 5GHz. Many people said that they were finally able to use their Fire TV sticks with a channel from 36, 40, 44 or 48. So, I chose channel 36. Then, the situation got better, although the sounds and videos were still interrupted from time to time.

The third day, I ordered an Amazon Ethernet Adapter, hoping that it would fix the problem. The fourth day, the adapter was delivered. I browsed movies and musics, then picked up a movie titled, "Lee Daniels' The Butler." I watched it, and was very inspired and moved by the movie.

三日目に、問題の解決を願って、アマゾン・イーサネット・アダプターをオーダーしました。四日目に、アダプターが届きました。映画や音楽をざっと眺めて、それで「大統領の執事の涙」というタイトルの映画を選択しました。私はそれを見て、大いに感激し、その映画に心動かされました。
