The Restructuring of Factories
The Restructuring of Factories
Once upon a time, there was a woman who ran a company but was suffering from poor results of its business.
Her name was Otoko Mimizu, and she inherited her father's small company when he passed away from his illness ten years ago.
After that, she expanded of the scale of her company, and also ran several factories too.
One year, a serious problem regarding two factories was reported by each factory manager.
According to their reports, many workers at the factories in Sodom City and Gomorrah City chat with their smartphones during the working hours, not following the employment manual.
The production at the factory was always behind the plan, and also the defect rate of products was high.
Mimizu took the problem very seriously, so she told Abraham who worked under her, "It seems that workers at factories in Sodom and Gomorrah have no work ethic. Let's see what's going on there this week. I will shut down both the factories if the situation is that bad really."
So, Mimizu and Abraham first left for the factory in Sodom.
When they arrived in front of the Sodom factory, Abraham asked Mimizu timidly, "Are you serious about shutting down this factory? Will you fire both the people who work very hard and those who loaf on the job equally?"
Abraham continued, "Suppose there are fifty honest workers who work very hard within the factory; will you close this factory and not keep it for the fifty good workers?"
Mimizu answered, "If there are fifty good workers who honestly work in the Sodom factory, then, I will save the factory for them."
Abraham asked another question, "If five of the fifty good workers are lacking, what will you do? Will you shutdown the factory for lack of those five?"
Mimizu answered, "All right! If I find forty-five righteous workers there, I will keep the factory.
Abraham demanded, "There might be only forty people."
Mimizu got annoyed, "You are noisy man, aren't you? Then, I won't do it for the sake of forty."
Abraham was sorry to trouble. However, he still continued, "Oh Please don't be angry. Suppose thirty are found there"
Mimizu answered with a voice which sounded like she was disgusted, "Well, you are not giving me a choice, are you? I will keep the factory if thirty workers are doing a good job."
Abraham took breathed once and said with low voice, "Just in case, I would like to ask you this. If, by any chance, only twenty people work hard but the rest of them are lazy, what will be your decision?"
Mimizu answered showing her feeling that she was so irritated, "Hey! What's the matter with you? Well, okay, I will forgive all workers in it just for those twenty."
Abraham looked up Mimizu's face, and asked her the final question, "I promise this is my final question. Please don't get mad! If you can find only ten workers who work really hard in the factory, will you still save it?"
Abraham wanted to ask Mimizu what she would do if there were less than ten righteous workers. Abraham saw Mimizu's face and felt that she looked about crying, so he did not ask her further question. They entered the Sodom factory. What they saw there was .........
