Correct Japanese Language?


Very often, some children or young people begin to use wrong expressions in Japanese, and adults, especially seniors, will be concerned that “Our language is going to be broken.” They say. Within a decade, many people will be using those words and even newspapers and television newscasters will begin to use them. Eventually, those expressions will be considered part of the Japanese language. In a similar way a human language varies between ages, between areas, and between occupations. Some Asian messaged me saying, “Fujikun, your Japanese recordings sound different from the standard Japanese language that I read in the textbooks and listen to on the audio CDs.” I would like to say to him, “Thanks for teaching me Japanese language. I was born and raised in Japan. Am not I native Japanese speaker? If not, what am I?”

あと何年？ ある時、今出来ている事が、あと何年出来るのだろうかと、いつも考える、58歳の男がいた。 ある朝、彼はカフェで朝食を取っていた。 「リバーサイド・カフェ」と言う名前のカフェだった。 彼は、呟いた。「あと何年、こんな風に、珈琲を飲めるかなぁ。」 朝食後、彼は、仁淀川沿いを散歩した。 彼は、呟いた。「あと何年、この場所をぶらつくことが出来るかなぁ。」 彼は、山や川の景色を満喫し、そして車で街に帰って行った。 そして呟いた。「あと何年、この古い車を運転出来るかなぁ。」 彼は、サンドイッチ屋で昼食を取った。 そしてまた呟いた。「あと何年、こうやってローストビーフサンドを食べられるかな。」 帰る途中、彼は、 食材を買う為に、 最寄りのスーパーに立ち寄った。 彼は呟いた。「あと何年、自炊出来るかな。」 夕食後、彼は、新しいストーリーを書いた。 そしてこうタイプした。「いったい、あと何年、こうやってストーリーを書き続けられるだろうか。」 WORDS AND PHRASES How Many More Years? あと何年？ 何 ？(なに) : What? 年 (とし / ねん) : a year, the year, years, the age 何年？ (なんねん) : What year? Paperwork Throughout every stage of the Japanese medical care system, from government offices and service providers to the people receiving care, seem to spend the vast majority of their time filling out a tremendous amount of paperwork. Unfortunately if a person who receives medical services is unable or cannot manage his or her documents, then their family will receive mountains of paperwork from both the government offices and service providers. I think that the Japanese government should headhunt talented people from advanced companies such as Amazon, Facebook, Google, and so on.
