I have a good idea!
Steve was good at pitching ideas. He would go to cafes and restaurants in the city and propose new ideas that would contribute to the sales of those establishments, receiving a portion of the profits as compensation.
One Sunday, he had lunch at a small cafe in an arcade near his apartment. The food was delicious, and the coffee and dessert were equally enjoyable. However, there didn't seem to be many customers in the shop. Steve told the waitress, "The food was really delicious. It seems like the shop is empty today." The waitress replied, "We're always empty, and no customers come in."
Starting the next day, Steve invited one friend each day to another cafe in the same arcade and paid for their coffee. Each time, he asked his friend the same question about the other cafe: "Why do you think that cafe over there isn't doing well?"
A week passed, and it was Sunday again. Steve had lunch at the same cafe as the previous week and approached the middle-aged man who appeared to be the owner. "I have a proposal for the shop," he said. He offered his idea in exchange for a portion of the shop's profits for a year. The owner agreed to the terms. Steve suggested, "It's easy. Change the toilet from a Japanese-style to a Western-style one with a washlet."
Steve then asked his friends, "That shop has a new toilet now. Would you like to go there for coffee next time?" They went to the cafe every day, and it gradually attracted more customers. Six months later, it became the most popular shop in the arcade.
A while later, Steve had dinner at a small restaurant in another arcade. The food was very delicious, and he enjoyed the wine. However, there weren't many customers in the shop either. After leaving the shop, he called his friends and said, "Do you want to have dinner together in that arcade next time?"
